Their function

Roofing felt acts as a secondary moisture barrier in case it escapes through the roofing. Types of roofing felt available

There are two types of roofing felts available in the market: paper based and fibreglass based. Paper based roofing felt consists of a paper flush impregnated with asphalt while the other consists of a fibreglass mesh saturated with asphalt. The fibreglass mesh has higher fire resistance as compared to the paper flush.
