Look for the leak

Usually a leak happens takes when a tiles moves or is damaged. You can sometimes spot the leak point using a torch in your loft space. Some of the other common identification pointers for leaks are as follows:

Examine the underside of the roof

You should examine the underside of the roof for any signs of wetness or mold. Such signs can sometimes be found at the points of intersection between two different roofing planes. Some of these symptoms include cracks or holes in the roof along with faults in the flashing installation.

Roofing material

You will require a ladder for this particular step so it is best left to a professional roofer. In this step, you will have to climb onto the roof and inspect the condition of the roofing material. Similarly, you should examine the condition of the flashing used.
