Flexitec 2020 Primer is a rapid-curing, cold-applied liquid used to prime roof surfaces before applying the Flexitec 2020 System. It is a white, water-based primer that provides a high-quality bond between the Flexitec 2020 System and the underlying substrate.
Features of Flexitec 2020 Primer:
- Rapid-curing: Cures in 30-60 minutes, allowing for rapid installation.
- Cold applied: Can be used in cold weather without heating.
- Water-based: Non-toxic and environmentally friendly.
- High-quality bond: Provides a high-quality bond between the Flexitec 2020 System and the underlying substrate.
Priming requirements are as follows:
- Bituminous surfaces (e.g. felt, asphalt): Priming recommended
- Porous surfaces (e.g. concrete/brickwork, plywood): Priming essential
- OSB3 TG4: Stripe prime board joints
- GRP: No priming required.
- Liquid coatings (e.g. polyurethanes): Adhesion tests recommended
- Single-ply membranes: Adhesion tests recommended
Application of Flexitec 2020 Primer:
Flexitec 2020 Primer can be applied by brush, roller, or spray. It is essential to ensure the substrate is clean, dry, and free of dust, dirt, and grease before application. The primer should be applied in two coats, with a drying time of 30 minutes between coats.
