Icopal Monarplan Anthracite Reinforced Strip
Monarplan Reinforced Strip is a polyester reinforced flexible polyvinyl chloride (PVC) based membrane used to achieve a watertight detail where end laps of the Monarplan GF fleeceback membrane are butt jointed. It is also used in conjunction with coated metal drips and upstands.
Compatibility
PVC roof membranes are not compatible with other plastic materials; such as expanded and extruded polystyrene, and are affected by direct contact with commonly used roofing materials such as bitumen, asphalt or tar, or products containing them.
Application
At end laps, or where there is no fleece-free selvedge, the adjacent sheets of Monarplan GF fleeceback membrane should be butt jointed. The joint is then strapped with Monarplan Reinforced Strip, centred along the joint line and hot-air welded with a minimum 40mm continuous weld on both sides of the sheet. The integrity of the weld should be checked with a seam probe as work progresses.
