If you’re looking to upgrade your glazing, the Velux IGR Conversion Kit will allow you to swap your pre-2001 glazing with the latest window technology without having to replace the whole unit.
All glazing that was installed prior to 2001 doesn’t possess the level of insulating technology that new versions have. Properties with older glazing tend to have a lower energy rating and higher energy bills because the windows don’t perform as well in terms of keeping the warmth in.
Glazing supplied by Velux before 2001 has a thickness of 16mm, but newer glazing that possesses the latest insulating technologies has a thickness of 24mm. The Velux IGR Conversion Kit contains all the equipment you need to convert your current windows so they are compatible with the thicker glazing.
